How are people accumulating so many points?!
I’m just wondering how some angels are amassing soooo many points. I’m in awe! I thought I was doing a lot when I hit 450 points last month but I see some are doing that in one day. How?!? also seems like a bike angels ride/meet up could be fun 👀Jhill31 days agoResourceful Rider774Views1like11CommentsPoint of reporting "decent" bike conditions?
When reporting a problem with a bike via the wrench button and subsequent web/app survey I'm asked to choose between two conditions: decent or bad. Regardless of what's wrong, when selecting "decent", the bike is immediately made available again for anyone else to use. Only bikes reported as being in "bad" condition are locked out from use for others. So, what's the point of reporting decent bikes if they're going to continue being used around the system? Does the Lyft team do anything with "decent" bike reports? If not, is the option there purely for psychological reasons? If a problem is bad enough to affect the safety or severely makes the bike unrideable then I always report it as bad.RedDragon31 days agoResourceful Rider18Views0likes0CommentsCapital Bikeshare (CaBi) Bike Angels Leaderboard
It seems like the NYC community has been going strong for a number of years, but not so much for Washington, DC riders participating in Bike Angels. We haven't been getting any updates or information about what is happening, so I'm glad we are now being invited to this community forum. In 2021 I started keeping track of Bike Angel Monthly Winners and the point totals, and have been maintaining these stats for DC. Very unscientific! I got into doing Bike Angels for a few reasons, the competition (hence keeping track), it's a good way to get exercise, and it's an excellent way to explore DC. For CaBi Bike Angels, here is your historical leaderboard and list of winners if you haven't come across it previously. https://adcjourney.com/bike-angels/ cheers JB991 P.S. Riders have gotten a little wild in terms of point totals in the last 5 months, maybe a direct correlation to the fact that CaBi added the option to redeem points for gift cards. We don't get money like NYC, how do we change that???JB9912 months agoResourceful Rider87Views2likes8CommentsLet's get to know each other a bit more!
Hello Bike Angels! My name is Sef and I work on the Bike Angels team, tinkering behind the scenes with many of my great teammates. We are super excited to be launching our Bike Angels Community and even more jazzed about adding all our Angels and riders in the future. As we grow the Community we want to incorporate your ideas for what would make this a helpful and fun space to check out. So always be open with what you want to find in the Community and we will see if we can make it happen. To get started, we want to get to know YOU. What got you excited about Bike Angels in the first place? What keeps you riding today? What is your favorite leisure trip when you aren’t hustling for points? (extra street cred for photos of your favorite spot or ride) Post your answers for the questions above in the thread so we can all get to know one another! P.S. We had an open bug where when you logged out the site would remove your profile picture, but this is fixed now. As you introduce yourself be sure to add a profile photo to your account. Looking forward to getting to know you all!sef2 months agoBike Angels Team4KViews3likes15CommentsCollection Complete !
Welp. This completes the collection for now (I think). It's been a fun ride and a great journey. I will continue to utilize Citi Bike for my daily commutes and look forward to any upcoming rewards down the line, the system sure has come a long way. Thank you to much to Jess and team for being so persistent and making sure I got all my rewards in. See everyone out there!T1m3Wizard2 months agoSteady Solver313Views11likes6CommentsIs it worth returning an ebike/scooter to a dock?
This might be news to our NYC friends, but in Chicago you can leave an ebike/scooter just about anywhere. Knowing whether returning an undocked ebike/scooter to a station is a net reward or not depends on how far away the dock is (X-axis, in minutes) and the points offered (Y-axis). I thought it would be interesting to make a chart for that: Bike Angels points valued at $0.20/point (based on 150 pts reward $30 Lyft credit) Red is bad (the ride fee is more than the reward), green is good, and yellow's kind of a wash. For ebikes it's easy to guess because reward is $0.20/pts and cost is approx $0.20/min. Scooters are more expensive so it's a bit tricky to calculate in your head, but aiming for 2x sounds good (e.g. if your trip is 2 minutes you should be looking for 4 pts).Wim3 months agoResourceful Rider240Views2likes9CommentsOptimized Routes for Bike Angel Points
