As a follow up, I had a conversation with a Valet the other day in NYC. According to him, he told me that he cant leave till all the surplus bikes to the side are docked. So every time a BA comes and takes a dock it is one less bike from the surplus that he docks. If this is true, I see his point, However, that would be an issue with the BA app algo. If you dont need bikes in these valet stations, why do you continue to offer lots of points? Thoughts?
The algo is wrong at times for valet stations and Lyft would need to fix it, simple as that. BAs should help distribute bikes from these stations up until the end of the day when people are heading home but the algo incentivizes the opposite.
